Member of Engineering Course Accreditation Panel
We're looking for members to join the Engineering Course Accreditation Panel (ECAP) to play a vital role in supporting us to achieve IPEM’s strategy in Professional Development. We particularly encourage applications from different workplaces such as industry, academia or within healthcare settings as applicants from diverse backgrounds make fantastic assessors with their wide ranging experiences to share. Any Fellows or Full Members of IPEM registered at either CEng or IEng level are welcome to apply.
The Engineering Course Accreditation Panel is made up of a Chair and 6 members and when you join, you’ll benefit from learning from other experienced panel members. They have experience of higher education programmes, assessing courses and UKSPEC. ECAP reports into the Course Accreditation Committee with members also experienced in accreditation who can offer support.
You’ll be sharing your professional knowledge and enthusiasm and being involved in accreditation visits provides you with an opportunity to influence and shape the education of the workforce for the future.
You won’t need to attend in person meetings, just one accreditation visit per annum which is hosted over 2 consecutive days. Typically, this visit could be reviewing student output, such as examinations and coursework or touring laboratories/facilities. We estimate that throughout the year, this volunteering opportunity will need 7 days of your time. All panel business is conducted by email. Training and support will be provided and we will cover your expenses.
Please find the Role Description and Application Form below. If you have any questions please contact Lauren Armstrong (Licenced Activities Officer) at lauren.armstrong@ipem.ac.uk.
