Masters Level Accreditation
Accreditation of Masters Level programmes in Clinical Engineering or Medical Physics using the Masters Level Accreditation Framework involves independent scrutiny by IPEM using appointed assessors at regular periodic reviews with IPEM accreditation normally awarded over several subsequent years. Awards are subject to the higher education institutions undertaking specified framework activities, such as an annual audit return, and implementing any changes requested by a panel during this period.
There is a fee for this process which must be paid to the IPEM office in advance of the accreditation visit. For current accreditation fees, please contact the IPEM training department. In addition, reasonable travel/accommodation expenses of the assessors, normally two, must be met by the host university.
IPEM awards an annual prize for the best student project on each IPEM accredited MSc. Each winner is awarded a certificate and £250. Course leaders are approached directly by the IPEM National Office for details of their prize winners.
If you would like to apply for accreditation of your Masters degree, please firstly read the MLAF Guidance notes and the additional Guidance notes relating to Covid 19 (below).
You must also complete the Student Prize application form and include this with your application for accreditation.
Please return your forms, together with your purchase order, to: training@ipem.ac.uk.
