Former IPEM President to be the new President of the British Institute of Radiology
A FORMER President of IPEM will be the new President of the British Institute of Radiology.
Professor Stephen Keevil takes up the role on 1 October when Dr Sri Redla steps down after two years in office.
Professor Keevil is Head of Medical Physics at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, leading a team of almost 200 staff who provide a comprehensive range of medical physics and clinical engineering services.
He was IPEM President from 2013-15 and has also served as President of UKRC and is a former member of the administrative council of the International Union for Physical and Engineering Sciences in Medicine (IUPESM).
Professor Keevil said: ‘I am thrilled and honoured to be the new President of the BIR. There have been some fantastic accomplishments to celebrate over the last few years and I look forward to more milestones as the BIR embarks on a new five-year strategy.’
His inauguration as the new BIR President takes place in November.
