IPEM-approved external short courses for CPD
ARE you looking for a short course or one day meeting to contribute to your Continuing Professional Development? If so, then IPEM can help.
All scientific and training meetings organised by IPEM have content which is valuable towards counting as CPD activity.
In addition, IPEM also offers an approval process for other external short courses and one-day meetings as CPD activity.
Approval is an independent audit process that grants recognition by IPEM of courses which have a programme of relevant teaching activities that are suitable to meet the published aims and objectives.
The approved courses include everything from radiation protection training to medical statistics, fundamentals of nuclear medicine to electrical safety of medical electrical equipment and systems.
Course providers
They are run by a variety of NHS Trusts, universities and companies right across the UK, including the Royal Marsden Hospital and Institute of Cancer Research, the National School of Healthcare Science, Boston Scientific and the University of Salford.
Dr Robert Farley, IPEM’s President, said: ‘These short courses, which are approved by IPEM, are an invaluable way for healthcare scientists to keep their CPD up to date so we can maintain the very highest standards in medical physics and clinical and biomedical engineering.
‘We saw a huge upsurge in 2021 of the number of courses being approved by IPEM, which is fantastic for everyone. For course organisers seeking to have their course approved by IPEM, there is full guidance on how to submit an application on our website.’
