IPEM Congratulates the 2023 MLAF prize winners

IPEM sends warm congratulations to the 2023 Masters Level Accreditation Framework (MLAF) prize winners.

The IPEM Student Prize is presented for the best project on an IPEM-accredited MSc course. The winners each receive £250 and a certificate.

Below we have listed the winners for 2023 alongside their projects:

  • Marta Ribeiro, Keele University: Multimodal Sensors and their potential role in achieving artificial sensory feedback for upper limb myoelectric prosthetics

  • Timothy Arthur, Kings College London: Lower limb prosthetic gait analysis: the kinetic errors associated with using inaccurate inertial parameters in the conventional gait model used by Vicon Nexus

  • Jack Foulkes, King’s College London: An Evaluation of 4D View-sharing Techniques Applied to Dynamic Contrast-enhanced MRI of the Breast

  • Sion Jones-Davies, Swansea University: Quantative SPECT using iodine-123: Variation and Optimisation

  • Louisa Brown, University College London: Increasing the off-slice resolution in edge illumination x-ray phase contrast micro computed tomography through deep learning

  • Saranniya Sasikumar, University of Aberdeen: Morphometric Analysis of the Hypothalamus

  • Yiling Hu, University of Glasgow: Universal Excitation Pulses for a Parallel-Transmit Head Coil at 7 Tesla MRI
  • Asher Ezekiel, University of Liverpool: BOLD-MRI as an indicator of hypoxia in prostate tumour

  • Nadia binti Mohd Shahrom, University of Malaya: Characterisation of a Hybrid Optical Gamma Camera for Clinical Application

  • Nazanin Marzban, University of Strathclyde: Osteogenic Responses to Pure Hydroxyapatite (HA) and HA/Titanium Dioxide Coatings Using the Novel Electron Cyclotron Resonance Ion Beam Deposition (ECR-IBD) Technique
