Statement from IPEM following the tragic incident in Southport and subsequent events

We at IPEM represent a diverse community of scientists, engineers, and healthcare professionals. We are committed to equality, mutual respect and appreciation of our individual differences. This is embodied in our values of Trusted, Inclusive and Progressive.

We have been shocked by the events that have taken place following the attack of 29th July, and condemn both the violence, incitement to violence, and spread of misinformation. These actions are so far from IPEM's values we felt it important to make a statement of support for our members, their colleagues and the wider community.

We offer our sympathy to all those impacted, professionally and personally. We will continue to urge empathy and understanding for people of all backgrounds in their places of work and within wider society
