IPEM/WCSIM Essay Prize Winner Announced
We are pleased to announce that this year's winner of the IPEM/WCSIM Essay Prize is Dr Anna Wang. She has won the prize for her essay titled 'How can the integration of AI into clinical practice improve diagnosis and patient outcomes, and what impact will this have on workforce training.'
Anna is a second year STP trainee specialising in Radiation Protection and Diagnostic Radiology at The Royal Marsden in London. Previous to starting the STP, she studied Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge and completed a doctorate in biophysics at the University of Oxford. She has also recently joined the IPEM Early Careers Panel. In her spare time, Anna enjoys running and travelling.
On winning the prize, Anna said: "As an early career medical physicist in training, I am excited to explore how new technologies will impact healthcare and I therefore am grateful to IPEM and the WCSIM for providing a platform on which to do so."
Anna's essay can be read here.
The award was launched in 2020 and is open to members of both organisations who are in the early stages of their career (typically within 10-15 years of graduation or of commencing their relevant employment).
