New Deputy Director STERIC and VP Medical Physics announced
We send a warm congratulations to Prof. Chris Hopkins and Claire Hardiman for winning the recent internal elections. They have been appointed the roles of Deputy Director for STERIC and Vice President for Medical Physics respectively.
Professor Chris Hopkins is a Consultant Clinical Scientist, an Honorary Professor in the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Science at Swansea University, and an Honorary Professor in the Wales Institute of Science and Art, among many other accomplishments.
On becoming Deputy Director for STERIC, Chris said “I am delighted to be appointed as Deputy Director of STERIC. I am very much looking forward to advancing our scientific, research, and innovation endeavours collaboratively, and look forward to working with all of our members to achieve our shared goals”.
Claire Hardiman is the Head of Radiation Physics at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. She is also an IPEM Fellow, MPE, RPA, co-chair of the Trust’s Radiation Safety Committee, Coordinator of the London North Medical Physics Training Consortium and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College, and has held multiple voluntary roles within IPEM previously.
Claire said "I am honoured and delighted to be elected as VP Medical Physics and look forward to working with yourselves, our colleagues and partners to help tackle IPEM’s challenges as laid out in the Science Leadership Strategy."
We have no doubt they will both do exceedingly well in their respective roles and will make valuable contributions to the profession during their terms.
