Professor Tania Douglas

Professor Tania Douglas, who was appointed Editor-in-Chief of IPEM’s Medical Engineering Physics (MEP) journal just last year, sadly passed away on 20 March following a courageous battle with cancer.

 As Professor in Biomedical Engineering, South African Research Chair in Biomedical Engineering and Innovation, and Director of the Biomedical Engineering Research Centre at the University of Cape Town, she was an outstanding academic, recognised internationally as a leader in her field.

Phil Morgan, IPEM's CEO, said: 'This is hugely sad news. We give thanks for all Tania contributed as a colleague of IPEM, and send our sincere condolences to her family, friends and wider circle. She will be remembered with great affection and immense respect.'
