Clinical Research in MRI and Medical Physics
Supporting and enabling research activities is an inherent part of many of our jobs in MRI and medical physics, some of us may also lead our own research projects and programmes. This work often crosses clinical and academic boundaries. Despite this, there is a lack of clear information and guidance about how to get started, how to find funding and how to overcome other issues related to performing research in a clinical setting.
This online meeting will provide an introduction and signposting to help address these hurdles from where to start if you have an idea, to getting funding (and who to approach), to practical issues such as ethics, using non-CE marked devices/software and tips for dissemination and publication. This event will focus on presenting experience from those using magnetic resonance methods for research in NHS settings, but much of the content will be generalisable for those working in other modalities or sectors. We hope that this will facilitate stimulating discussions around the role of the medical physicist in clinical research.
