Mayneord–Phillips Educational Programme (MPEP): AI in Imaging and Treatment Planning 2024

The Mayneord-Phillips Educational Programme (MPEP), run by the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine, the Institute of Physics and the British Institute of Radiology is aimed at early career professions and allows them to network and engage with leading experts in new medical physics developments, as well as with their peers. The Mayneord-Phillips Educational Programme (MPEP), run by the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine, the Institute of Physics and the British Institute of Radiology is aimed at early career professions and allows them to network and engage with leading experts in new medical physics developments, as well as with their peers. The programme hosts approximately 30 early-career professionals and has been successfully running since 2012. The topic for the programme in 2024 will be AI in Imaging and Treatment Planning and is aimed at early career professionals including NHS clinical scientists, post-graduate students and post-doctoral research. This will provide attendees with: 

  • A broad understanding of different Artificial Intelligence approaches and applications 
  • Knowledge of issues related to successful implementation of artificial intelligence in Imaging or Radiotherapy. 

The programme will take the format of a one-day online training on Zoom, which will be followed by a short online follow up session held in March 2025 and the opportunity to present and network at the UK Imaging and Oncology held in Liverpool, UK, 2nd – 4th June 2025. Attendance will be required at all of these points. Please be aware that attendees will be expected to cover their own expenses and attendance costs at UKIO.
