Ciaran Jones

Apprentice at the University Hospital North Midlands in Stoke on Trent.

Ciaran started the apprenticeship at the age of 18 with nine GCSE’s A-C and will finish with an HND in Electrical and Electronic Technology plus a level 3 NVQ. He hopes to continue working and training in the NHS to become a fully qualified Radiotherapy Engineer.

His job is based in the Radiotherapy Technical Services Department working alongside a team of highly skilled engineers, who are in charge of the maintenance and repair of the equipment. The team also administers their own IT Oncology System, help carry out quality assurance checks and have a mechanical workshop where they design and create specialist oncology equipment.
