The Radiation Protection Service Cardiff are recruiting a qualified and experienced Radiation Protection Adviser and Medical Physics Expert to join our expanding team. Based at Velindre Cancer Centre, Cardiff, the role will focus on supporting our customers in diagnostic and interventional radiology, across a regional footprint, to enhance their compliance against both the Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017 and the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposures) Regulations 2017. This opportunity is advertised at Agenda for Change Band 8B (between £58,972 and £68,525 depending on experience). The position is permanent and full-time (37.5 hours per week). We offer flexible and hybrid working, and have a track record for supporting the development of our team of scientists, technologists and administrative personnel through formal and informal routes. We work closely with clinical and service colleagues across all radiation-related healthcare disciplines –radiology (diagnostic, screening, interventional and cardiology); nuclear medicine (diagnostic [conventional and PET] and therapeutic); and radiotherapy (external beam and brachytherapy). We also have close links with nearby academic institutions, and lecture on the Cardiff University BSc, Cardiff University MSc, Swansea University MSc, and FRCR courses.
